Cleartrip Account Overview 1: Trips

As some of you might have noticed, we launched a brand spanking new Cleartrip Account two days ago. The user interface and back-end code were rewritten from scratch. We’ve incorporated a lot of the feedback we’ve received from everyone into the redesign and we’re thrilled with the way the new Account works and looks.

This is the first in a series of blog posts introducing the new design and the new features available in your Cleartrip Account.

When you sign in to your Cleartrip Account, you’re taken to a listing of the trips you’ve booked with us. We call this page the dashboard, it provides a summary view of all your upcoming and completed travel bookings:

Cleartrip Account Tour

  • Trips are sorted on the basis of travel date
  • Trip ID and Trip Name are displayed for easy reference (you can rename trips any way you like, more in the next post about that)
  • Trip Status provides an indication of the status of that trip, including cancellation and refund status
  • By default, we show you only your last 5 completed trips, but you can choose to view your last ten trips or all your completed trips
  • Messages, alerts and announcements are displayed in the yellow box to the right of the page. Throughout the account pages, the right side of the page is used to provide helpful links and information

A trip can have the following status labels:

  • Confirmed: Your booking is confirmed and valid
  • Cancelled: You cancelled your trip, your cancellation has been processed
  • Refund Pending: Your refund is being processed by Cleartrip
  • Refunded: Your refund has been processed by Cleartrip, your money has been returned to the bank
  • Expired: All travel for this trip has been completed as booked.
  • Booking Failed: Something went wrong while you were booking.
  • Booked Offline: Trip was booked by phone/email (offline bookings are displayed online, but no cancellations are possible)
  • Booking Declined: One of your round trip flights was unavailable when you booked and you declined to book the available flight.

If you booked a round trip and cancelled only one of the flights, then the status labels are applied to each flight booked and not the entire trip.

In the spirit of transparency and honesty, we’ve elected to show you failed and declined bookings within your account as well.
