Now accepting debit cards & international credit cards

Last night we released a major upgrade to our payment systems–you can now book airline tickets and hotel rooms using your debit card or credit cards issued outside of India. You’ve been demanding these payment types for a while now and we’re happy to make them available.

As always, the security of your payments is our top concern. We’ve integrated with the most secure systems available to protect you and your money — Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode.

Click the images below for online demos and more information.

Cards you can use to pay when you book with Cleartrip are listed below:

Credit cards issued in India

  • American Express
  • Diners Club
  • MasterCard
  • Visa

Credit cards issued outside India

  • MasterCard
  • Visa

Debit cards issued in India

  • All HDFC Bank debit cards
  • All Axis Bank (UTI) debit cards

Yes, we know–debit cards issued by ICICI, Citibank and many other banks are not yet accepted. The truth is, we’re waiting on the banks–these banks do not support the use of debit cards for online payments. ICICI promises us that they’re working on it and that we’ll be able to accept ICICI debit cards soon.

Are u sure citbank doesn’t support online debit card payment.. I pay my cellone bills every month online thru citibank debit card… also I do remember booking train tickets from irctc site using citibank debit card.

Robin–we’re working with the banks to find solutions for debit cards online. Keep in mind, we’re talking about debit cards here and not bank-to-bank transfers, which is a separate payment mechanism altogether.

I agree with Robin. I pay my airtel bill using citibank debit card. I would like the same facility in make my trip. I am forced to pay more money for my tickets just because I dont have an Indian credit card.

Sorry for that spam but I’m fricking irritated right now. I got a call from (cleartrip I believe) asking me if I’d like to get a hotel reservation for my recent flight I booked with cleartrip. F**** you. I’m really pissed. I don’t want to be disturbed with such nonsense which is why I chose cleartrip, and now they do this. These calls spoil my train of thought and I feel like wringing the neck of the SOB who authorized this. Please do not go down this route. Not even one more call from you, and if it wasn’t from cleartrip then shame on you for not protecting our cellphone numbers. &#*#@*@#)@#)(@#)(!
