Panoramio photos added to hotel maps

Last night, we took another step forward in our quest to deliver comprehensive hotel information to help customers choose the right hotel — Cleartrip’s hotel search results now display photos of attractions, sights and locations near a hotel.

The photos are embedded into each hotel’s map and are accessible by clicking on the ‘Map’ link of the hotel information display. Each photo is marked with a special icon , clicking on the icon brings up the photo within the map. Here’s a unique view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

We integrated our hotel maps with the Panoramio API to make this available to our users. With over 12 million photographs available, the Panoramio community has made some truly stunning photographs available–enjoy.

Wouldn’t flickr be a better choice?

Panoramio gave us some very easy API hooks straight into Google Maps. In fact, Panoramio is now a part of the Google Maps API itself, easing integration significantly.
