Share your search results through email

Yesterday we pushed out a small update to our flight search that lets you share your search results with friends or colleagues via email. If people are planning to travel together, or booking flights for someone else, this is a pretty handy way to send information and a search results link directly through email.

We’ve added an “Email this search” link directly beneath the “Modify your search” link:

Once you click the link, a form is displayed within an overlay above the search results. If you’re signed in to your Cleartrip Account, your name and email address fields are conveniently filled our already. The subject line and the message can be customised by you.

Submit the form and your search results along with a link to those results will be zipped off via email. Here’s what the typical email looks like:

We hope this little enhancement makes it easier for you to plan and book your travel.

    Hi Hrish,

Kudos to you and your team for a fantastic job! !Lovely site by any standards!!

    Cleartrip-you love it!!

I would like to understand,You release so many changes right how do you do the change management ..Do you document everything what happened or what exactly is the procedure.

    Thanks,
    vikram

  1. @Vikram Sounds like an Agile company (agile = code over documentation)

Hrush, are we aiming for viral with this?

Vikram-we use the standard set of tools for change management i.e. Subversion. For small changes such as this one, we don’t have too much documentation, but larger projects do have varying types and levels of documentation.

Diwant-in less than two days we’ve seen a lot of people start using this for exactly the reasons we launched it. They’re communicating their travel plans or booking travel in conjunction with someone else.

We’re quite happy with the usage of this feature and will soon be making it available on international flights, hotels and trains as well.

  2. Very cool. I would hope that eventually you guys also hook in with Tripit.com so I can share my Cleartrip itineraries through that.
