Travel now, pay later

At Cleartrip, we’ve always been big believers in giving our customers a wide variety of payment options. In keeping with that spirit, we’re thrilled to offer the ability to travel now and pay for it later–travellers now have the flexibility to pay for their travel in instalments instead of all at once.

We’re always looking to make travel simple; and making travel more affordable for customers certainly makes it easier for customers. International trips or even domestic holidays with the entire family can get quite expensive; so, we’re now offering our customers to pay for their travel in easy monthly instalments.

Paying through instalments can considerably reduce the upfront amount you have to pay for your travel. For instance, a Mumbai-Dubai round trip flight costing a total of Rs 14,000 can be reduced to as low as Rs 1,555 per month. We offer a choice of breaking up your total cost into three, six or nine monthly instalments so you can pick whatever suits your budget best. Depending on what you choose, your monthly instalment amount would be:

3 instalments6 instalments9 instalments
EMI payableRs 4,666Rs 2,333Rs 1,555
Processing fee*Rs 357Rs 651Rs 987

*A one-time processing fee is charged by the bank that issued your credit card; this fee is payable along with the first monthly instalment. Processing fees vary slightly from bank to bank, the example above uses the rate applicable for HDFC issued credit cards.

This brand new payment option is available for all flight and hotel bookings, both domestic and international. To pay for a trip with instalments, just click on the “Pay with EMI” tab while making your payment. Choose the issuing bank for your credit card and then select the the number of months over which you’d like to spread the payment. Processing charges applicable for your selection are clearly displayed.

Fill in your credit card details and click the “Make payment” button. It’s that simple.

At this moment, the instalment option is only available for credit cards issued by HDFC and ICICI. We’re hoping to add support for a few more banks very shortly, stay tuned. We hope the ability to travel now and pay later makes travel simpler and more affordable for you.
