On dullards, form and function

From The New Adventures of Stephen Fry

Only dullards crippled into cretinism by a fear of being thought pretentious could be so dumb as to believe that there is a distinction between design and use, between form and function, between style and substance.
~ Stephen Fry

Too many people confuse design with good looks — Design is not art and thank God for that.

Design is a solution to a problem, nothing more, nothing less — great design is a great solution, good design is a good solution and crap design is a crap solution.
