At 09:37 PM today, 7th December 2011, I booked a Tkt with Clear Trip as per details below:
Trip ID: 11120714957
Date of Travel: 9th January 2012 / 07:45 – 10:30
Flt No: SG 873
From: Mumbai to Kolkata
Pax: Jharna Mitra (My Mother – senior citizen, age > 70 years.
Cost: Rs. 4183
At the outset, let me inform you that I have been using Cleartrip for more than 4 years now.
After filling in all details and all, info diligently and proceeding to complete payment – I discovered that the trip had been registered in my name (Devajit Mitra)and not my mother’s name (Jharna Mitra). Your historical records should reveal that I have made several such bookings in her name through Cleartrip in the past years ( including returns back to Pune or Mumbai), ex Pune or Mumbai in the past years.
In your Portal the “Auto Fill” function is malfunctioning – which has cause this error – for example when I was in the field for the Credit Card number, the field was already filled with my email id: dmitra4036@dataone.in , however due to my previous hassle free experience with Cleartrip I did not pay due concern ( my fault) to this aberration and proceeded to completed the transaction.
Having discovered the discrepancy, I called ( must mention that atleast 3 or 4 of your listed number replied “does not exist”) your customer support and spoke at length to Jainul, who could not resolve the matter, and was of little help, and extremely restrained in his scope of assistance – understandably so, as he has no authority over any area except to transmit stored information or recite, well practiced lines ( shall forward to our concerned department. etc. etc) . He also informed me that at 10:20 pm at night – all his three supervisors ( Aftab Rizvi, Sunil Pai, Sunil Varma) were extremely busy and unable to speak to me.
If Cleartrip decides to insist that the fault was mine – please let me know how soon can I pay the penalty of Rs. 1100/- and get the balance refunded. I would like an email response from you rather than a call back – as then I have definitive and expressed documentation that I can post on FB and Twitter regarding this issue and you will appreciate that it is only correct and fair that I should warn and inform my friends about thier typing skills before using your portal.
Trust you will respond promptly,
Very disappointedly yours
