[Design nuances] Search results header redux

Early on this year, we redesigned Cleartrip's search results headers because we wanted to reduce the amount of vertical space they were taking up. We managed to reduce the space by over 200 pixels and were fairly happy with the way the new design functioned.

But a couple of our regulars suggested we could improve it further. Umesh Gopinath, pointed out that the new design had sacrificed visual hierarchy and made user search parameters look less important than the "Modify search" link. Zishaan Hayath agreed that the search parameters weren't standing out enough.

Yesterday, we released an update to the design that incorporates the feedback we received. We restricted the grey background to appear only behind the "Modify search" link and made the search parameters more prominent by making the text bold and black instead of the grey colour we were previously using.

We love getting suggestions from our customers and we're very happy that we have such a vocal and noisy community. As always, keep the feedback coming--we listen to it all.

Good. You listen and thats wonderful.

If you can move the ad line above the search param bar, even better. Also may be you can align the "modify search link grey box" with the 'search option side bar' below and make the param text a little more bigger.... great.

Sorry for the continuous pester and thanks a lot for the link love. :-)

We've moved the ad line above the bar on hotel search results already. We'll soon be doing that with flights and trains as well.
