What if Google had to design for Google?

Traffic from organic search is a key success factor for most online businesses and with over 70% of the worldwide search market, Google has the lion's share of search referral traffic. Web sites everywhere are doing their best to optimise for Google and the other search engines and there are a million tips, tricks and tweaks available for search engine optimisation (SEO).

Unless a web site is extremely focused on user experience, the pressure of optimising for Google can hijack the entire site design process and the end-product.

Here's a hilarious look at what would happen to Google's home page if they had to design for their own Googlebot and ranking algorithms:

I <on personal note> like Google <Cleartrip too> because of its simplicity in design and its quality <may call it ability> that it does not divert one's mind to the things <useless surfing, in this case by providing external links of cool sites> other than the user actually has opened google for.
