Multi-currency support in search results

A few weeks ago, we added support for displaying search results in 22 currencies to our international flight search results; and as of late last week, all of Cleartrip's search results support display in 22 currencies -- flights, hotels and trains.

We noticed that our non-India usage was growing quite large and decided to add support for currencies across the board. Indian Rupees (INR) is, of course, the default currency selected. To change to another currency, just select the currency of your choice from a dropdown menu on the left of the search results.

The site will remember your selected currency for all your future searches via a cookie. The additional currencies we support are:

  • AED - United Arab Emirates Dirham
  • AUD - Australian Dollar
  • CAD - Canadian Dollar
  • CHF - Swiss Franc
  • CNY - Yuan Renminbi
  • DKK - Danish Krone
  • EUR - Euro
  • GBP - Pound Sterling
  • HKD - Hong Kong Dollar
  • IDR - Rupiah
  • ILS - Shekel
  • JPY - Yen
  • KRW - Republic of Korean Won
  • MYR - Ringgit (also known as Malaysian Dollar)
  • NZD - New Zealand Dollar
  • PKR - Pakistani Rupee
  • RUB - Russian Federation Rouble
  • SAR - Saudi Riyal
  • SGD - Singapore Dollar
  • TWD - Taiwan Dollar
  • USD - United States Dollar
  • ZAR - Rand

If you'd like to see more currencies added to our search results, just drop us a line -- leave a comment below, post a suggestion on our customer forum or leave us feedback from the site.

Happy globetrotting.

Hrush this is just out of curiosity....
I dont know if it will be answered...
Where do you get the real time conversion rates or it works out in some other manner...
will be glad if you could elaborate...
I am working on something similar...but the exchange rates seem to be the problem...

We get our conversion rates from one of our flight data providers, but there's a lot of different places you can get them--Reuters, oanda.com etc.

Thank you so much for making your site so damn fast to load and light on the dross. It's a blessing in disguise - I'm in the middle of nowhere with only a data card for access and was able to make my bookings.

gautam--thanks for the appreciation, we've just recently put a ton of work into making sure our load times are as fast as we can possibly make them:

Although, curious to know--why "blessing in disguise?"

@ Hrush: Well because office knows I have the ability to modify my travel schedule, I end up staying out on the road longer.. :)
