« [Guest post] How to repel users (Part 1) | Main | Launch: Cleartrip Alerts »

Guest blogger

For the first time ever, the Cleartrip Blog will be publishing a series of posts authored by a "guest blogger." Our very first guest blogger is Peter Theobald. Peter is an active Internet user and a big proponent of good design. Peter also happens to be one of our customers.

Peter's guest posts are focused on bad design and are motivated by his own bad experiences on web sites. We won't be disguising any names, so companies providing bad experiences will be transparently visible in screenshots.

We're excited about publishing Peter's posts here, it should be fun.

The cleartrip website is a major farce and is scamming its users. I cite an incident here that I have personally experienced during the time of my using the website to book tickets. Last month I was booking tickets to Andaman. The prices of the tickets had remained stable for over 4 days and just at the point of my booking the ticket(after entry of all the details of the credit card) the page goes back saying that the particular flight is not available any more and shows increased fares of the same airline and same time as before.
Today, I have been trying to book a couple of tickets to Srinigar and I have faced the same problem. The ticket prices have been changed from rs 16,976 to Rs 17,778 or so.

I suggest that cleartrip respect the intelligence and understanding of the user and not scam them by changing the fares just when they are booking it. By doing this you are annoying a user to no end.

I hate using cleartrip and hope i never have to use the god forsaken site again

Oh that happens at all the OTAs but only for the sectors very less traveled. I guess it happens because they cache the fares and not able to refresh because people opting for these sectors are quiet low. It happens to me all the time for dibrugarh flights.
