A selection of calendar widgets

We're currently redesigning our date-picker and we've been scouring the web for good implementations that we can learn from.

For online travel products, the calendar widget or date-picker is a critical component. And getting it right is quite a challenge. There's a lot of tiny details in the design and interaction that need to get worked out.

Whatever you do, please tart the week with a Sunday, rather than Monday. Sometimes, its better to stick to the norm (however wrong it might seem) than trying to change the world

hi hrush

dont like the new date picker. all the dates look the same. at least the S and S for Sat and Sun.. should be in a different color .. usually red... so I know which dates are the weekend..

About the new picker

I liked the horizontal layout but i think you should play around with the colors. Overall it looks so dull. And like Peter mentioned the weekends can be color coded. may be increase the contrasts of the available dates. use a more prominant color for the selected date, its so very dull.

I think 2 months (current and next) should be shown in the date picker rather than just the current month.

Upasana--we do show current and next month in our new date picker. You can see the details here:
