How would you like to pay?
In just a few days we will start accepting payments through net banking--allowing you to make payments for all your flight and hotel bookings by signing in to your online banking account and authorising a payment.
Net banking has been one of our most requested payment options. People without credit cards or debit cards will be able to book their travel without having to ask friends or relatives for help with payments.
As we get ready to release the net banking option, we'd like to ask you what other options you're looking for. There's many ways to pay for your travel:
- Mobile phone payments--Mcheck, PayMate and NGPay are just a few
- Cash
- Demand drafts or wire transfers

But nothing compared to the base you may potentially have if you can accept cash / cheque payments.
So it should also be easy for you to accept cash / dd / cheque payments. Users should be able to pre-fund their cleartrip account by depositing cash / dd / cheques into your bank account directly. The username / transaction number should be captured somewhere (your bank will have to help) in the account narration so you know who the payment is from and appropriately provide that account credit.
Here could be a simple process that would work for both registered and non-registered users:
1. User (registered or not) gets onto cleartrip.com and clicks pay
2. Chooses cash / dd / cheque. Enters the amount, and a few brief details. Submits. Is provided with a unique transaction number that s/he should provide to your bank while depositing cash / cheque / dd at branch. If cheque / dd is being dropped off in a drop box it should be written on reverse.
> Pre-payment is required cos in the current scenario I don't think a user can search for and 'block' a seat prior to this step.
> You should choose a bank with a widespread branch network (ICICI / HDFC / SBI etc.)
3. Bank captures unique transaction number in narration which shows up instantly for you on internet banking.
4. [THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL] User comes back to cleartrip and using the unique payment number confirms payment from his/her end. If its cash you can immediately check it on net banking and provide credit. If its cheque you will need to wait for clearance of instrument.
5. When funds are credited, user recieves SMS and Email alert and can then use the acocunt for the booking.
Now, if you CAN first allow a user to search and block off a seat, and then provide say X hours to make a cash payment at XYZ bank any branch, then its a whole new ballgame.
