Embracing RSS

As an online travel business with a great deal of focus on travel search, Cleartrip gathers a lot of interesting data. Since we've always been big believers in delivering Cleartrip's data and information "beyond" the browser, we've started making some of Cleartrip's search data and other content available via RSS.

RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication, a feed format which allows websites to distribute content without requiring someone using a browser to visit the website. Lots of web sites are now supporting RSS to distribute content and you've probably seen some of these icons all over the web:

We have data and content feeds available for flights, hotels, the Cleartrip Blog and our forums. More details for all of Cleartrip's RSS feeds are available at:
http://www.cleartrip.com/research/rss/

Our flights and hotel data feeds are a great way to keep on top of airfares and hotel rates. Both feeds also support some additional search parameters which make it easy to target exactly the content you're after.

We think RSS is a great way to distribute our data and make it available to other people. And as most smart developers will know, RSS makes for a great lightweight API with all content delivered as XML.

Over time, we'll be trying to make more and more content available via Cleartrip's RSS feeds for travel data and content, we hope you find them useful.
