Cleartrip turns 2

Last Friday, on the Fourth of July, 2008, Cleartrip turned two years old. On the occasion, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our loyal supporters and customers and all the great people that come to work at Cleartrip every day, pitching in to make travel simple.

We've had a great second year, Cleartrip's range of products has come a long way. Along with dozens of continuous improvements to our older products, Cleartrip added a few new things along the way including:

Nothing makes us happier than happy customers and giving them more Cleartrip products to help them plan and buy travel. We've got some fantastic things planned for this year--it's a real privilege to serve the Cleartrip customer and we plan to keep the flag flying high in the coming year.

Hi...

When I first read it or used it I cannot congratulate you of coming up with a train search. But after using it I need to congratulate you for one thing for sure. The speed at which the search takes place. Both the Indian railways as well as the IRCTC sites suck big time in this aspect. I am happy that there's something I can search in from next time onwards.

Really It's amazing.. that you show the trains as well as the seats availability at that speed.. Hatsoff..

For me, train search and the net-banking/debit card support were the killer features. I use this site for checking train timings, routes, ticket availability, pretty much for everything other than booking train tickets! Expecting more such features in the coming year!

Happy Birthday.

Must say I really like your site. In fact, I think I must be the only person who logs on to just read the blog or just check if there are any changes on the layout. I love how simple the site is.

Some suggestions:

- Try a "Direct trains only" link/checkbox.
- The "feedback" link on international search isn't ok.

Good luck with your future plans.

Cheers!

- Karan.

hi Hrush,

Have a look at this review on the train search at Cleartrip.com

Sajja--thanks for the wonderful review, allow me to clarify a few things:

* We actually launched the train search in February this year
* Since we do not make any revenue from it we cannot justify advertising spend for it
* Our motivation for creating the train search was not fuel prices, it was purely because we thought creating it was in the best interest of our customers

There's a video interview where we clarified our rationale:

Hrush- one thing,,...

I hope it would be better if you add the tatkal option too on your search. Many might be looking for tatkal in last minute bookings.. Just a suggestion
